In 2006 I created a section on French Food for a leading French Property website, providing not only recipes but also articles on the history and culture behind the recipes. Due to the success and popularity of this project, I decided to expand this project to cover other national cusines in addition to the original French section. However, as it did not make sense to do this on the original site, I hired a team of developers to design what I hoped to be the platform for many different people to share their experiences and thoughts on worldwide food. Thus, this site (www.food-worldwide.com) was born the end of 2008.
Of course, the success of such a site is dependent on both the people who contribute recipes and articles (which we refer to as 'CHEFS') and those who rate and comment on the recipes and articles (which we refer to as 'MEMBERS'). The 'chefs' provide the information, while the members provide the quality checks. In addition, I monitor the site and all contributions, providing suggestions where I can and editing out SPAM or offensive language when it occurs.
