8 slices of bread (preferable thick cut)

3 eggs
-
1 cup milk
-
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
-
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Salt to taste. Suggest ½ teaspoon.

Beat the eggs. Add the milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract and salt. Mix together.

Soak the bread slices in the mixture.

Fry the soaked bread on one side until golden brown, then turn and fry until the other side is golden brown.

| Additional Notes |
 |
If possible, use bread that is somewhat stale rather than fresh bread. It is more authentic and it will absorb the egg and milk mixture better.
