Ingredients
  • 4 cuts of veal, 2cm thick
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of cheese (such as Gruyere)
  • 2 eggs 
  • 4 ounces butter
  • breadcrumbs
  • flour
  • salt and pepper
 
Preparation

Carefully cut a pouch lengthwise into the veal chops. Do not cut the veal in half.

Place a slice of ham and one slice of cheese into each pouch. Close with a skewer.

Beat the eggs.

Roll chops with flour, spice with salt and pepper, than roll in beaten eggs and than in breadcrumbs.

Fry in butter for approximate 10 minutes on each side.

Serve with rice or mashed potatoes and vegetables.

 
Additional Notes

This dish is often made with Gruyere cheese, as it's taste is strong enough to add flavour, without being so strong that it overwhelms the other ingredients. However, one can use other cheeses, depending on personal preference.
